Well, I saw this link on ~brythefamousretard's journal and it horrified me to know that people do this so I thought I'd speak out against it.

So now I'm going to tell you a story. Basically, a yesterday, this kid a school, in my year, through a brick at a seagull, the seagull was knocked out of the air and landed in the playground. The guy, with all his mates watching, proceeded to stand on this innocents bird's neck. Despite be trodden and spat upon as if it has become the greatest filth of this world it somehow managed to survive this ordeal, lasting till the end of lunchtime. When this event eventually caught the attention of the school, janitors simply arrived and threw a box over it's struggling body (most likely in an effort to calm it down) while the appropriate people were called to address the situation. From my classroom window I could see that action had, at last, been taken. A member of what I can only assume to be the RSPCA arrived to take the animal away to be healed or, if necessary, put down.

This is the sort of thing that digusts me, how someone could hurt an innocent animal - even if only a seagull - purely to satisfy their own bloddlust. We've banned foxhunting in Scotland, ending this abuse should be the next step.
